UNV38161 - Universal Description
The UNV38161 has an auto-start/stop function and is packed with overheat and overload protection to prevent machine damage. It features a manual reverse mode to undo jam and exceptionally fast shredding speed that increases the productivity of the model. With a motor HP of 0.2, it is bundled with adjustable arm that can fit in waste bins of different sizes. It is based on strip cut technology and designed for a single user.

Really convenient. Just put it on top of the trash can. Not great for heavy duty, but perfect for shredding one or two items at a time.

If you put more than one piece of paper in it gets stuck. If that piece of paper is not perfectly straight it hangs up and you have pull individual pieces out and until you get it all unstuck. Granted, I didn't pay very much for this shredder, so I can't be too critical. But, it seems to jam fairly easily, even though I've only tried one piece of paper at a time so far. For example, if the sheet is not perfectly aligned, it will jam. Or, if you try shredding something a little irregular in shape, it sometimes jams. It's easy enough to unjam (just fast forward or pull paper out with hands), and i enjoy shredding things over cutting each piece of paper with scissors, but I'm a little disappointed with the efficiency of this model and think maybe paying more for a better shredder would have been worth it.

This shredder can only handle about 2 sheets of paper at a time, and the sheets have to be inserted just perfectly or it will jam. It struggles w/ shredding carbon-type paperwork - forms, receipts, etc, any type of paper that is thin and "slippery". It overheats in about 3 mins - even when putting just 2 or 3 sheets through at a time. It is loud as can be and jams super easily. I wouldn't say it "shreds" paper - the strips are very wide and documents could be easily pieced back together.

I had a Light Duty similar to this previously. I don't remember if it was a Universal brand product, but it worked fine for 8+ yrs, and I got rid of it because it starting jamming often. I didn't realize you could just sharpen the blades w/ special paper. This replacement doesn't even compare to my old one. I didn't expect a power shredder for $25, but it isn't even "light duty" worthy.
