Fellowes Powershred MS-450Cs is an ultra quiet,high security shredder that accepts paper,paper clips,staples,credit cards and CDs.It can handle up to 7 sheets per pass,25-50 times per day, for a total daily capacity as high as 350 sheets.In case the pull-out bin is full,a jam occurs or machine is overheated,shredding stops automatically and the operator is alerted.Machine works in automatic mode with its auto start/stop functionality,and features patented SafeSense technology that stops shredding if your fingers are too close.The wastebasket contains a window where you can see if it is full, and there is a separate 0.78 gallon bin for shredded credit cards and CDs.Shredder is made of durable steel cutters and includes casters for better mobility.

I shred EVERYTHING with my name and address on it. This shredder grinds into very small pieces, so it is unmatched for security at this price point. Moreover, since it does not produce long one-quarter-inch-wide strips that typically "bunch up" (like cheaper machines do), one can shred more pages before having to empty the container. There is no practical way someone can determine personal information from the shredded material that is produced with this machine. I thought it an excellent value for the money.

Summary: Simply the best for office or home --quiet!
 
I have owned a Fellows shredder before (8-years old and still working), but I sold it to my roommate and purchased this new larger and more powerful size. Very well made, easy to understand directions, and the safety feature (not allowing your hand --or your child's-- to get too close) is wonderful. The slide-out shred basket is well designed and sure prevents a mess compared to my old one. If you're looking for the best value in shredders for your home or small office, don't even waste your time looking for others (I did and still came back to Fellows). Do your research if you want (many great reviews for this model)and you'll be impressed -- everyone loves this great quiet shredder!

I have used my MS-Cs for 4 months with no complaints worth mentioning. I use it in a home setting shredding mail for the most part. I have never
shred to much mail time wise or thickness wise to activate the over-
heating switch nor do I overload thickness size of 7 sheets at one time.
I Love the way it shreds paper into confetti size bits, no way can
anyone piece these together again!!
Pros: Perfect Machine for my kind of use: I.E Mail,Bank Statements, Private Info Ect Ect.
Cons: Could not find any worth mentioning!

Two things about this shredder:
1. Data recovery. No one will be able to piece back together anything shredded by the MS-450C. Paper is simply shred that finely. Better than anything else I've ever seen.
2. Quietness. Perhaps I should've put this first. I can shred while my wife sleeps in the next room, something I never would have attempted before.
Please, do your research, check opinions on other shredders, whatever you need to do. But you will come back to buy this model. Absolutely no bad things to say about it. The CD/DVD shredder part is actually a different feed than the paper shredder, a feature not seen on many machines. By that I mean not only is there a different slot, but it has a different method of shredding them.
I've had this machine about a month now. Love it!
