Aurora AS810SD Description
The Aurora AS810SD strip cut paper shredder is the ultimate home device designed to ensure protection against identity theft. The shredder is capable of consuming eight sheets at a time and cut it into strips of 0.25 inch. The shredding speed of the machine is 9.7 feet per minute. It can cut through CDs and credit cards and comes with a basket and a three mode safety switch which keeps the fingers safe. The shredder's throat width is 8.75 inches. The wastebasket has a capacity of 4.5 gallons or in short it can accommodate 100 sheets of shredded papers.

Summary: A great little shredder for the home
 
This little baby is a great asset for anyone intent on keeping their personal identity theirs. It works great with the minor drawback of it's size. If you have a lot of shredding to do the basket is small and you will need to empty it often, otherwise, it is easy to work and does what it was advertized to do.

I have had shredders in the past that tend to jam up and I have to clean the slicers out before proceeding and this one has performed very well without jamming. I used it for shred a years worth of documents and was very pleased with how smooth the task went. I would recommend this product.

I had purchased this for our home / personal use. I had read the reviews on the overall quality of the product. I still purchased the item knowing that prolonged use of the shredder for a long time can shut down. I do have a lot of shredding to do - about 8 years worth of mine & about 10 years for my husband. Then I have my parent's to work on as well.

The basket is small for all the shredding that needs to be done and has to be emptied quite frequently which is a pain in the ass when you have a lot to do. What I have personally done is once I have scanned in the paperwork into the computer, I have a separate small waste basket for which papers needs to be shredded, and only shred for about 20 min. a day. It's a pain in the butt, but it works in preventing the overheating of the product.

The Shredder does not cross shred, which could be a bummer, but does the CD's well & Insurance cards.

I would recommend this to anyone for personal use. If you are a small business, then No I would invest in a larger one.

So far, product is working as advertised. I have shredded several hundred pages so far, with a long break--20 minutes or so--after each hundred to let machine cool down. I shred 2 pages at a time. As instructions state, don't let basket get too full; and no other paper can be below jammed paper when reverse is used--the tangled papers will all try to come up.
