The Fellowes Intellishred PS-79Ci has some innovations that will make you smile. The convenient, reliable and fast shredding is associated with the jam proof system (which is patent pending) and is capable of eliminating the frustrating jams. It prevents overloads and therefore stops jam. It accepts CDs, paper clips, staples and credit cards. There is a time-saving sheet capacity indicator which measures the paper as you shred. It can shred up to 12 sheets at one go and produces cross cut particles measuring 5/32 x 1-1/2-inch. Also features a Safe Sense technology and a six gallon bin which can be pulled out. The caster makes it easily movable and comes with 2-Year Worry-Free Product and Service Warranty and also has a Lifetime Cutter Warranty.

Summary: Awesome Cross Shredder at last!
 
This is the best shredder we have ever had!
Love these features: you can shred CDs and CCs by flipping a separate "lid", auto-on/off, and it goes into energy saver mode (power goes off) when it hasn't been used for an hour or so.
It also is on wheels and looks hi-tech, durable!
And for once we haven't jammed papers or caused that arduous "overworking the motor" sound that our other shredders had. The max # of sheets to feed it seems to be closer to what it claims and it shreds FAST and quietly.
Would buy this again! Woohoo for a great shredder at last!

Summary: Great Home Shredder
 
I resisted buying a shredder for a long time because the last thing we needed in the computer room was something else to plug in. But, my husband recently retired and he could no longer take our shreddables to work to do it there. I did a lot of research before purchasing this shredder. We have had it for almost two months and find it to be a welcome addition to our home. Love, the sexy blue back-lit power light.
Be warned that it will, in no way, shred 12 sheets of paper at one time but that is not an issue for us as we are normally only shredding single or at most 3-4 sheets at a time. It takes everything we throw at it with out a hitch and my kids love to shred old CD's, again, without any hesitation. We don't really need the safety sensor but if it's still around when the grand kids start arriving I suppose we will be glad we have it. The bin holds quite a lot and I appreciate only having to pull the bin out and empty a bag versus pulling a heavy bulky blade unit off the top and having no hands left to empty the bin. We really appreciate the cross-cut capability. Besides the security, it allows more bin capacity and the pieces drop straight down like stones and do not fly all over the place when you clean the blades. It is well constructed, almost reaching heavy duty industrial quality and it is well suited to our home use. I did not purchase ours from Amazon as there seems to be some question over the description of 'all metal gears'. I didn't want any snafus so went another route, paying the same and getting free shipping and since then have found that 'all metal gears' has disappeared from the Amazon description. Don't know if ours is all metal gears or not but it is not an issue with its demonstrated great performance.

I bought several shredders under the price of $100 and non last longer than a year with below average use. This is so far the most satisfying shredder I bought and hope it will last. All the features are working as it advertised, especially the credit card shredding.

It works quite well, but there are limitations on the thickness of papers it will shred. More than adequate for home use, but I would imagine that it would be very time-consuming to use in a busy office.

Summary: Good Shredder Value For Your $$$
 
I selected this product after looking around at different companies shredders. My old shredder which I had for 9 years finally wore out. I use shredders for my home to destroy bank statements, receipts, etc - I am not really a heavy user. I was looking for a couple of specific features my old one did not have - a bin that could be removed without touching the shredder assembly itself, on wheels so I could move it around my office, a reverse/anti jam feature, and a quieter motor. Cross cut shredding was VERY important and the shredder had to be small in size - but my old one had these features.

There are larger shredders out there but this is working well for me now - I have had it 3-4 weeks. Like I said, I am not a heavy user so the bin has not filled up yet. It is very quiet, has not jammed even though I have challended it a couple of times!

I picked Fellowes brand since they are in the "Shredder Business" - you can save some money buying third party machines like "staples brand" but I figured I would have this machine for a long time and I liked the feedback from other people who had problems and the Fellowes made returns/replacement straightforward - no hassles. For a few extra dollars I am buying peace of mind.
