Summary: Royal 16??sheet cross-cut
 
This is a very nice machine but for two problems
1. If you put 16 sheets in at the same time the
motor lugs down where sounds like it is going to
stop.
2. When first being used in the morning sounds
good but after a while it sounds like it needs
oiling.
But the machine is big and I like it.

Summary: OVerall Soild Shredder
 
After doing a ton of research I narrowed down to Royal 160MX
Pros:
* Actually shreds the edges
* Does cross cut (i.e. uneven cuts) which is more secure
* Shreds Credit Cards and CDs (The best Fellows shredder will only do long strip cuts which is not secure)
* Very powerful and quite motor
* LED Display will tell you status (Ready, bin full or overload) - plus a few more.
* Draws less than 1 W of power in standby - so you can leave it connected
* Auto start/stop when you insert paper
* Switch to turn it off
* Will shred staples but not paper clips (not a big deal)
* Easy to empty bin
* Will chew up complete sealed envelopes including the pesky junk mail offers

Cons:
* Bin could be larger - should be double the 28 liter included. I don't understand why they can't make bigger bins given that all it is but a plastic box does will cost only a few cents more
* Bin full light comes up when the bin is 50% full. You have to open and shake /compress the paper - Sensor is not designed properly
* Screws in bin can tear the trash liner which can sometimes cause a mess
* Bin could be better designed to work with standard trash basket liners

NOTE: The color of the product is White. The photo at Amazon is for 150MX which is white in color.

Overall the cons are not big considering that if you want a heavy duty secure shredder for paper, CD and Credit cards; this is the only choice in town. If Royal fixes the above Cons they will have the best shredder in town.

Summary: A shredder that actually works!
 
In my battle to find a shredder that doesn't wrap the paper around itself like the Fellowes Powershred P70C, I finally decided to upgrade on price with hopes of finding something that was, at last, worthwhile. I found it. The Royal 16- sheet cross cut Shredder. Perfect job every time. No back up. No burn out. No clogging just pure unadulterated shreds.

Summary: Finally, the third times the charm!
 
This is the third (fourth if you count the shredder I bought for my Mother also) shredder I have purchased. I "burned" through the first two in short time and finally decided to pay a little more and get my money's worth this time. I had a backlog of shredding to do and this shredder handled it with ease. The shredding capacity (16 sheets) made quick work of my pile even though I was only shredding about 5-8 sheets at a time because some of the paper was heavier than "normal". The bin capacity is the best thing. Both in size and ease of emptying. I realize that it isn't professional strength, but after the "toys" I had previously, I can definitely recommend it for home or even a small office support use.

Summary: Quiet, Consistent, Professional
 
This replaces an over-the waste basket shredder which had constant problems. This one is worry free. It doesn't whine. You can carry a conversation (in person, not over the phone), while shredding. A thing of beauty is a joy forever, so is a shredder that isn't loud and works.
