Fellowes Powershred MS-450Cs is an ultra quiet,high security shredder that accepts paper,paper clips,staples,credit cards and CDs.It can handle up to 7 sheets per pass,25-50 times per day, for a total daily capacity as high as 350 sheets.In case the pull-out bin is full,a jam occurs or machine is overheated,shredding stops automatically and the operator is alerted.Machine works in automatic mode with its auto start/stop functionality,and features patented SafeSense technology that stops shredding if your fingers are too close.The wastebasket contains a window where you can see if it is full, and there is a separate 0.78 gallon bin for shredded credit cards and CDs.Shredder is made of durable steel cutters and includes casters for better mobility.

The Fellowes Powershred MS-450Cs Safe Sense 7-sheet Confetti Cut Shredder has performed very well since purchased. It is very quiet and shreds paper to tiny bits (so you do not have to worry about private information being found in the trash). It also does a pretty good job on credit cards and CD's. The size of the MS-450Cs is good for office or home and the safety feature (it shuts off when it senses your hand is too close) is nice. It is easy to operate and empty. The only thing you may want to know is that the MS-450Cs needs to be shut down to cool off every so often (this is explained in the instructions). So if you have reams and reams of paper to shred, you will need to be patient and do a little bit at a time. So far (one month) we are quite happy with this product.

Two things about this shredder:
1. Data recovery. No one will be able to piece back together anything shredded by the MS-450C. Paper is simply shred that finely. Better than anything else I've ever seen.
2. Quietness. Perhaps I should've put this first. I can shred while my wife sleeps in the next room, something I never would have attempted before.
Please, do your research, check opinions on other shredders, whatever you need to do. But you will come back to buy this model. Absolutely no bad things to say about it. The CD/DVD shredder part is actually a different feed than the paper shredder, a feature not seen on many machines. By that I mean not only is there a different slot, but it has a different method of shredding them.
I've had this machine about a month now. Love it!

Except that the credit card/CD/DVD shredding function cuts in strips rather than cross cut (making it easy to reassemble the credit card and read the data), it's a good shredder.

I bought this shredder for small office use. I researched shredders before buying as my experience with shredders has not been very good. They jam. They overheat. They make sounds that jostle the fillings in the teeth of the guy in the next office. This shredder got good marks for not jamming, stopping before overheating, being quiet and being reliable. I can't speak to the reliability yet, I've only had it a week. But I had quite a backlog of stuff that needed shredding. The product was easy to set up, remarkably quiet and really does grind up paper into dust. So far, so good.
