The Aurora AS420C is a professional cross cut paper shredder which is perfect for home use. This machine shreds the vital information that can be used by criminals to pieces so small that it can never be deciphered. The machine can cut through credit cards, staples and paper clips. It comes with a basket of 1.1 gallons capacity (accommodates 40 sheets). It is loaded with features like manual reverse for clearing paper jams, has a duty cycle of 2 mins on and 15 mins off. It requires a power input of 140 watts and gives an output of 38 watts. It also includes overload and overheat protection and includes a convenient design for easy lifting. It also has a letter opener, detachable power cord and is silver in color. It has a dimension of 9.49 x 6.93 x 9.92 inch (LxWxH). The total weight is 5.07 lbs.

Summary: it does the job
 
it's not a "full size" shredder, meaning you'ld have to fold 8x11 size paper in half before feeding it into this shredder. -then again, it is labeled a "desktop" shredder.
good for shredding mail and old post-it notes and such, however, if you need a shredder for full size paper mostly.....i'ld suggest a full size shredder

Summary: PERFECT for occasional home use.
 
Love it. With the size slightly larger than a home coffee maker, this shredder is perfect for home use for shredding your bills, old credit cards, or junk mails. it is not noisy, fairly light, and so easy to use that my kids were playing with it before I got my hands on it. Ahh, gone are the days when I had to cut and tear multiple sheets of paper into smaller pieces for disposal.

Summary: Shreds about 30 pages before basket needs emptying
 
We were looking for a new shredder to fit into our small space. I liked this one because it didn't have a typical large/dark gray office color. It's simple to use and would be perfect if I shredded every time the mail comes in. But I let it pile up sometimes and am a little frustrated when I need to shred a lot. No fault of the shredder - I should probably just shred as the junk comes in instead of letting piles accrue around the dining table! I was shredding a big pile today and after a while the motor overheated. After waiting a bit I was back on track. I was able to shred about 30 pages at a time before needing to empty the basket. I had to redistribute the shredded paper on occasion - giving the basket a little shake. After 30 pages the motor just stops because there's no where for the paper to go... Overall - it does what it says. Buyers just need to know that it's not for big jobs.

This is a nice little shredder for small amounts of paper at a time such as mail or receipts but full sheets need to be folded in half. It had no problem shredding credit cards. It sits under my coffee table to give you a sense of size. Great for people with limited space.
