The Fellowes Intellishred PS-79Ci has some innovations that will make you smile. The convenient, reliable and fast shredding is associated with the jam proof system (which is patent pending) and is capable of eliminating the frustrating jams. It prevents overloads and therefore stops jam. It accepts CDs, paper clips, staples and credit cards. There is a time-saving sheet capacity indicator which measures the paper as you shred. It can shred up to 12 sheets at one go and produces cross cut particles measuring 5/32 x 1-1/2-inch. Also features a Safe Sense technology and a six gallon bin which can be pulled out. The caster makes it easily movable and comes with 2-Year Worry-Free Product and Service Warranty and also has a Lifetime Cutter Warranty.

Summary: Prevents jams
 
I've owned one shredder before and it has always jammed. The Fellowes PS-79Ci Shredder is trouble-free. It has a sensor that prevents users from inserting too much paper. In addition, it has a powerful motor that easily cranks through cds, credit cards and thick sheets. This combination makes for a trouble-free experience.

Fellowes put in some features that really help usability. I think these features put an end to some of the leading causes of jams in other shredders.

First, it has a sensor to show you if you are getting too close to, or exceeding the shredding capacity in terms of thickness. This helps avoid jams and it also gets you accustomed to the amount you can safely shred.

Second, it has a "full" signal for the bin. I suppose most $100+ shredders have this but, in the past, I only had cheaper shredders and maybe the problems I had with them could have been avoided with more frequent emptying.

Third, the opening is wide. In the past, my other shredders had openings that were just paper-width. If the paper was not put in just-so, it started to fold on itself and that was what caused jams.

Overall, I could not be happier with this shredder! It is very quiet and it does the job. I have only had it a couple of weeks, but I am confident that I will not have the problems I experienced in the past with cheaper shredders.

Very happy with this buy. Definitely high quality and solid construction, without any "fake" flimsy plastic which I often find in so many different products these days. I have been researching and browsing many different shredders online and at stores. The main thing I was looking for were durability, sturdy, tough, and safety. This machine easily met all of those criteria I was looking for.

This fellowes with its scary looking metal teeth shreds whatever I put through effortlessly, but it has its limit which is how much stack of papers you can put through. That's perfectly okay with me. Its color gauge will let you know if it's too much stack of paper. If the gauge gets red, it's too much and will stop shredding. Even with limited stack of papers I can put through, it can still shreds one cd or dvd at a time effortlessly.

Bottom line is it will definitely shreds through anything as long as you're green-lighted or yellow-lighted on the gauge. Once you know the limit of how much you can put through, then you're all set.

Should Come with Sun Glasses, has Eye Piercing Blue Power indicator LED that is blindingly bright.

The power on LED indicator is BLUE, that in itself is bad enough, however this one is so bright you could almost use it as an aircraft landing light!

A 10 second search on the Web found:

While red or green light is focused precisely onto the retina, blue light is focused slightly in front of it, which causes a distracting halo around bright blue lights.
