Aurora 6- Description
The Aurora 6-Sheet Crosscut Shredder features a thermal overload detection technology that can avoid damage to the machine. It is stitched with auto stop and auto start functionality. Features a reverse mode for clearing jams and overloads. Constructed and carved out of durable aluminum and has an 8.7 inch blade made out of indestructible stainless steel cutting technology. The waste material has a size of 1/5x1-17/20 inches. Shredding speed is 8.36 PPM. It can shred credit cards, paper clips, staple and papers. The waste bin can hold up to 145 shredded sheets. The machine comes with a 60 inch electric chord.

Summary: Gets the job done
 
I've been using this shredder for about a year and its handled all my home shredding needs easily. It's not a high volume shredder: it's intended for shredding a few pages at a time not a ton all at once. I've experienced non of the problems reported by several other reviewers; my unit detects sheets of paper just fine and shreds them quickly and efficiently. This guy is fairly noisy though, but that's pretty much par for the course with shredders.

If you want a quality home shredder, you could do a lot worse. If you plan on high volume shredding, get an industrial strength shredder.

Summary: cross cut shredder
 
This shredder takes paper at a slant rather than the top which totally confuses everyone. It does not cross cut 100% of the time. Some cuts come out in long strips. It is noisy compared to other shredders we have had. I purchased it because of the mesh basket. It is easier to tell when it is full. The button to turn it off and on actually slides left or right rather than being pushed. If you are a senior, don't buy one of these. What looks like the on/off button is actually the light that alerts you that it is on. You turn it off and on by pushing a silver slide bar to the left. It does not push easily and seniors like myself will have problems pushing it. All previous shredders I have had you push a button to turn on and off. Not so with this one. Do I like this product? No. However, I bought it so I have to use it.

I couldn't be more happy with this product. It works like a dream, not bulky and was able to shred my credit cards w/ ease. Also, shredded paper is not all over the place after dumping in trash. A worth while investment

Summary: Does the job!
 
The shredder seems to do the job, but it has a habit of not working when I flip the switch. I usually press reverse and then it starts to work. I oil it frequently, so I'm not sure what the problem is. It seems to do the job, and it's easy to tell when it is full.

Works exactly as advertised. Replaces one from Staples that worked for 20 minutes and died. Highly recommended
