Fellowes 32197 Description
This innovative product with the SafeSense technology is peculiarly good for frequent shredding needs and is capable of delivering high performance in small office and home office areas. The paper gets reduces to confetti particles of high security and the particles have a size of 5/32x1-1/2 inch. Capable of shredding 17 sheets in a single pass, the machine can be fully operative for 50-100 times a day. It has a 9 inch wide front feed which means that it can gulp up a standard legal sized document. Even CDs can be shredded in designated slots. Loaded with durable steel clutters, it can accept small paper clips, credit cards and staples. It is loaded with auto start-stop functionality and the system stops completely and continues to give signals in case of paper jam. It also stops in case the waste bin is full. It has a 10 gallons fully enclosed waste basket and there is built in casters for ease of portability. It comes with a 7 years warranty tag!

Summary: Shredder is a monster
 
This shredder chews up anything I can throw at it with ease. This is the first shredder that I've seen whose motor sound doesn't change pitch whether it's grinding through tissue paper or a CD. This is a well built, powerful machine that is deeply satisfying to use.

Most people who review shredders will state (and in my experience accurately) that you should assume capacity at only 50%. With the SB-97Cs that is not true. Capacity is far closer to the stated 17 sheets per pass than you might believe. 12-15 sheets at a time is my norm and the machine just goes right through them. Try more than that and you might hear it slow down and, every once in a great while, stop.

The automated features work well. The bin is large and easy to empty. This is a good machine, a real workhorse and I highly recommend it.

I purchased this shredder several weeks ago and have not had a problem with it at all. It replaced another Fellowes shredder that I purchased that turned out to be a lemon. This turned out to be perfect for my home office.

Summary: Buy this shredder
 
This thing is quick and powerful. I love not having to open all those credit card offer and unfold the pages to feed them through. I actually keep up with the shredding instead of letting it pile up. The only draw back comes when emptying the collection bin. There is always fallout from above that has to be cleaned out. Overall I love this product and would definately buy it again!
