Fellowes PS-77Cs is loaded with the patent-pending innovative technology with an active sensor that stops shredding as soon as the paper entry is touched. It is engineered for moderate shredding and best suited for small office and home office needs. It is designed to shred credit cards, small paper clips, staple and CDs (in designated slot). Cheaply priced, this machine in made for high performance and reduces the paper into confetti particles. The front feed in 9 inches wide and has a quiet performance that is best suited for office use. It features electronic auto-start and auto-stop and thereby helps easy shredding. Shredding stops automatically in case of a paper jam. It can take 12 sheets per pass and is capable of operating 25-50 times a day. It has a 7 gallons waste basket and has a clear window to see through! The added advantage is the sheet capacity gauge which prevents jamming due to paper. If a jam occurs, the shredder shuts down and indicates the same to the operator.

Have only owned the paper shredder a short time but it has worked like a champ. It has taken CD's, credit cards and paper with staples in it no problem, we are very happy with it!

I considered various shredders but this one fits my requirements just right:

1. Medium load for home office usage (15-20 items per week)
2. Able to shred letters unopened (credit card solicitation)
3. Semi-quiet (won't wake up the kids if I have my office door closed
4. User-friendly bin with enough storage for up to two-three weeks of material
5. Able to handle credit cards, staples, and CDs
6. Attractive enough (and not too bulky) to look like it fits in a home office
7. Able to handle at least 5-6 sheets per pass (I know 12 is advertised, but most shredders over market this feature)

Summary: Works great - flimsy base
 
Shreds great. Does everything as advertised. My only issue so far is the flimsy base especially when you remove the waste basket to empty it. Getting the waste basket back in place is hit or miss and if it's miss, i.e. not tight, it won't function.

I love this shredder! It shreds 10 pages with no problem. It says you can shred more, but I stick to around 8-10 pgs. I've never had a problem with it overheating. The finger guard is a great idea too. It is a bit bulky and heavy, but the easy open door makes emptying it a breeze.

Summary: Very powerful shredder!
 
This shredder is really great! We've been downsizing and getting rid of tons of financial statements, and this shredder is like an industrial strength shredder. If you need to shred a lot and quickly, this is the perfect shredder. If you need to shred something occasionally, this is probably too much shredder for you. It's only become jammed once in the year that we've owned it, and it was clearly a case of our putting in too many pages at once. After we cleared the shredder, it worked perfectly again. It also shreds CDs and credit cards, and the tub holds a ton of paper. The emergency stop works well - if you barely touch it the shredder stops, so there's no danger of drawing any blood.
