Aurora AS1018CD Description
The Aurora AS1018CD dual cross cut shredder ensures that all the confidential information is shredded safely and is kept out of the reach of the criminals. It has a 9 inch wide slot for front feed and is capable of shredding credit cards as well. It has the capacity to take in 10 paper sheets in every pass. It has 3.5 gallon bin and has a dimension of 16.1 x 9.5 x 14 inch(HxWxL). The total weight of the machine is 14.5lbs and is black in color. It also features a safety interlock.

This is a really good shredder. It accepts multiple pages, cross cuts so you feel extra secure in shredding any important papers and also cuts any old CDs or credit cards.

Summary: Does exactly what it is supposed to do - shred!
 
We've been using it in our small office for about a month now. We shred on average about 15 to 20 pages a day. So far so good!

It has the feel of a very heavy duty machine, as it seems that no matter what you throw at it it does not sound as if it is struggling. Although it is rated for more, we limit ourselves to 6 pages max. It is also easy to empty, and does not take up much space.

This machine replaced an inexpensive Staples shredder we bought on sale that lasted only 3 weeks.

I'd recommend this unit to anyone with a planned use load like ours.

I bought this several months ago and am having a shredding good time. Replaced a small one that fit on top of a wastebasket that I had to keep emptying often and would overheat. Would read a book while shredding. But my new Aurora is great. Has not overheated, goes quite a while before filling basket, can view when getting full, is a lot quieter than old one too. Purchased this because of an aurora that lasted 8 years under heavier than recommended load, light duty consumer version that should have died. I'm brand loyal, to quality. Couldn't find one at local retail, sought out aurora online specifically.

This model is another solidly constructed product. Quickly shreds up to 10 sheets and credit cards, truthfully didn't buy it for nor test it with CD shredding. After initial runs, expecting a long life repeat. Glad to see honesty in the manual, recommends veggie oil lube, no need to buy specific maint supplies.

I'm not sure who expects a shredder to be whisper quiet, I expect it to tear stuff up, and this one is a reliable terminator of the tree life cycle.

I received this for Christmas at my request after sending the giver the link to this page on amazon.com. Opened it early. There are few directions with this shredder and few are needed, as getting started is so simple: unpack, put shredder on top of the wastebasket, plug it in. The unit is very well-designed with sturdy materials, and works like a proverbial charm. I'm betting it won't quit for a long time. I love to make choices like this one.
