The Aurora AS420C is a professional cross cut paper shredder which is perfect for home use. This machine shreds the vital information that can be used by criminals to pieces so small that it can never be deciphered. The machine can cut through credit cards, staples and paper clips. It comes with a basket of 1.1 gallons capacity (accommodates 40 sheets). It is loaded with features like manual reverse for clearing paper jams, has a duty cycle of 2 mins on and 15 mins off. It requires a power input of 140 watts and gives an output of 38 watts. It also includes overload and overheat protection and includes a convenient design for easy lifting. It also has a letter opener, detachable power cord and is silver in color. It has a dimension of 9.49 x 6.93 x 9.92 inch (LxWxH). The total weight is 5.07 lbs.

Lightweight and easy to empty due to handle for lifting off cutting mechanism. Not for heavy duty use but perfect for people who need a solution for everyday mail.

The shredder does a fast and effective job, I am very pleased with the preformance, and being able to view what is in the basket so I am more aware of when to empty it. The only improvement that I could recommend to this item is having a wider opening so you do not have to fold standard size paper.

Summary: Good little shredder
 
Keeping in mind the reasonable price and small size of this shredder, it does a nice job. It's small enough to be unobtrusive and happily munches the receipts and other papers that I need to shred. Downsides? It doesn't want to accept too many sheets at once, and the bin is rather small. But it's an inexpensive item. For the price, you can't beat it.

This product cuts paper into wide strips rather than shredding it. The collection box is too small thus requiring frequent emptying. I've had better desk-type units and cannot recomment this one.

I read all the reviews before I purchased this shredder. Its a great little machine. Of course you can't push a textbook or even 8 pieces of paper, but it destroys junk mail with the shiftness. Cons are that the basket gets full fast and it isn't latched to the top which is kind of annoying. Also pieces of paper get stuck in the blades. Ends up being a messy cleanup.
