Aurora AS890C Description
This Aurora AS890C is a cross cut shredder and can accommodate 8 sheets of paper at a time. This is a heavy duty shredder that also has an appetite for staples, paper clips and credit cards. The machine has an 8.7 inch throat and featured with a heavy load basket that can accommodate 125 sheets of shredded paper. It also features auto start, overheat/overload protection and manual reverse facility for jam clearance.

Summary: Don't give up!
 
The first one I had died mysteriously after shredding 1 credit card, but Amazon was helpful with a replacement and was quick to reimburse my return shipping cost. The one I have now seems to be working fine. Considering the price I'm happy with the shredder - it feels solid and seems to handle occasional use as expected. Remember to keep the box just in case! There's bound to be a few defects in the production process at this price point.

If this one hangs on I'd bump it up a star. (Or down one if it doesn't!)

Summary: A tisket,a tasket,needs a bigger basket
 
Not tall enough to stand on floor for use..too tall for desk-top and the basket needs to be bigger. I find I'm constantly tamping down or emptying the shreds.

Summary: Shredder cuts it
 
The Aurora AS890C 8-sheet shredder does a fast job and is much quieter than the last one I burned up. It will jam if too many pages are fed in and it was hard to clear the cutters to get started again. Overall a good value if you're careful.

This product is noisy and seems a bit rough, however, it does shred the paper as well as our last shredder, which just wore out. The top is easy to remove for emptying the basket.
