Summary: works fine..as long as...
 
...you do not shred anything with tape on it! When shredding my name and address from packages I receive in the mail, (most have tape over them, or, adhesive backed labels) they will always cause the motor to continue running and/or everything you shred though it next will be pulled to one side, depending on where the tape is stuck to the teeth. Keep a long thin screwdriver or knife next to the unit for clearing the frequent jams. Also, as mentioned, if your name is Secret Squirrel; you will find that the shredded strips are too wide and can still be read by your adversaries. Oh, and it will also choke easily if you do not guide the pages in straight or try to feed it more than 3 pages at once.

This product is cheap for a reason. It jams frequently and is a pain to fix.

This is a good shredder but don't expect much from it. I been using this for a year now, and it gets jammed and overheats quite often. You get what you pay for. Keep shopping around for a better shredder, though its cheap in the long run a better one will save you money.

If you want a shredder for heavy duty use or professional or everyday use then this shredder is not for you, but if you are looking for a lightweight and reciept shredder this is a great product. My roommate and I get tons of junk mail and for a cheap shredder for college students it is ok. If you are the kind of person who puts off shredding all of your documents until the end of the term this shredder will be a pain for you. It's much safer than our old shredder and there is no way you could possibly get a finger stuck in it, but it does not automatically have a safety feature for shutoff if you pick the lid up. Also this shredder can jam quite easily if you are putting in the max, six sheets. Its much better for just putting reciepts, not shredding your daily mail (we get alot of mail). It's basket is very small and the automatic feeder doesn't catch all the time, but hey like i said it's very inexpensive. You get what you pay for. At least it's still working:)

Overall if you are looking for a light duty shredder this one is great with the automatic feeding.

Aurora AS618SB 6 Sheet Strip Cut Paper Shredder with Basket. Pretty good product for the cost. Discovered it will jam with less than 6 sheets of standard size copy paper as well as some envelopes. Do not try to shred any heavy weight papers or it will jam.
